How It Happened

Stories of healthcare workers skipping or struggling to source meals startled us to action
  1. COVID-19 WAS GETTING CLOSER

The Hildon Foundation is always on the lookout for local good causes, yet news a little further afield began to capture our attention.
The lives of our friends in China were turning upside down. And although it felt faraway, we felt a collective pull to stay in tune with the devastatingly unfolding events.
  2. THE SPREAD CONTINUED

The spread of the virus was showing no sign of slowing down, so we began to think about how our small foundation might be able to spring into action. With tales emerging of healthcare workers selflessly serving their respective countries, we assigned a team with one goal – to express our gratitude in the most helpful way possible.
  3. FRONTLINE MEALS WAS BORN

Urgent meetings and calls with our restaurant partners meant a concrete plan was put in place. The result? a fast-paced, volunteer-driven movement to get meals and water to our frontline heroes. Unsurprisingly, we were not alone in our desire to make a difference.

  4. OPERATION ESCALATION

What started as simply hydrating our local hospitals, soon turned to the delivery of fresh, nutritious meals across London. Today, The Hildon Foundation is in talks with our stateside distributer, Fine Beverage, to organise the delivery of food and water to wards-in-need from New York to Washington D.C.
